Brooke is an International Charity that protects and improves the lives of working Horses, Donkeys and Mules which give people in the developing world the opportunity to work in their way out of poverty.
The Brooke India joined hands with Zila Yuva Vikas Sanghthan (ZYVS) on dated 1st April, 2020 to work on welfare of Equine and Equine owning community. The main motive of this project is to create an environment in which working Horses, Donkey and Mule are free from suffering i.e. Equine Welfare and Health. Income source of Equine owning community is totally dependent on their Equine. Working Equine supports a whole family. Equine are very sensitive animals. We are working for improving quality services (Quality treatment, Quality farriery, Quality feeding practices, hair clipping, quality shoe, saddlery item, etc.) by capacity building of, farrier, hair clipper, shoe maker and awareness programmes on disease, corrective farriery, balance feed, good husbandry practices. The ZYVS Ambala not just provides supportand treatments of Equine but stability in the life style of Equine owning communities. The ZYVS Ambala covers more than 3600 Equine and more than 1500 Equine owning family. We are working in Village, Brick-kilns, Tanga Stand, Anaj Mandi and Qalandars. We are currently working in the 5 Districts of State Haryana, India i.e. Ambala (All Blocks), Yamuna Nagar (All Blocks). Karnal (Block Indri), Kurukshetra (Block Ladwa), Panchkula (Block Raipur Rani and Barwala).The team of 7 Members takes care of the Equine in the Field i.e. A Manager cum Veterinary Officer, Deputy Manager and 5 Field Assistants.
